Conservation and heritage

It is a criminal offence to undertake work to a listed building or a scheduled ancient monument without the necessary consents first being in place. There are also tight planning controls on development in conservation areas. The JTS Partnership has a wealth of experience in dealing with such issues and in liaising with the relevant statutory bodies. We provide advice about:

  • the need to obtain listed building/scheduled ancient monument/conservation area consent
  • listed building appraisals
  • listed building/scheduled ancient monument/conservation area consent applications
  • design and access statements and listed building appraisals
  • enforcement
  • submission of appeals
  • preparation of evidence to support appeals
  • expert witness
